Peaberry coffees render a flavor that is concentrated and offers a more lively cup, full body and distiguished aroma.
Most coffee comes from twin flat beans grown within a cherry, but this is a single rounded bean called Peaberry for its unique shape.
Peaberries produce a somewhat different (often better) cup than normal beans from the same crop, from which they may or may not be separated during grading. This peaberry was tactfully roasted.
Yet this is not its only distinct feature. Harvested at the base of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, near the Kenyan border, Tanzanian Peaberry has less acidity than most East African coffees. The fertile volcanic soil is ideal for superior beans and the result is a coffee that possesses a roundness swirling with slight wine and fruit flavors. Though fruity in taste, Peaberry is hardly light and fluffy. Instead, it has the heavy body of a rich liqueur.
This gourmet African coffee displays many of the characteristics of Kenyan coffee, though much lighter in acidity and fuller body.
