Moreninha Formosa is one of the larger and most choice plots of the 31 plots that make up the farm Fazenda Aurea. These beans are grown right there outside the city of Serra do Salitre, Minas Gerais, Cerrado Mineiro. It's a mouthful to say, but it is the specific location where these amazing beans get their start. These trees are grown on an elevation of 1200 meters, which is rather high for Brazil, but promises to bring you slower growing trees which produce better acidity or crispness than lower altitude coffees.
Moreninha Formosa is a full natural coffee that offers a more rustic flavor with a touch of earthiness. Not only is this coffee hand picked to ensure each and every cherry is fresh and undamaged, but it is then delivered to quality control receiving stations to guarantee proper technique and handling. This promises consistently great quality coffee. Natural Moreninha Formosa coffee is dried on African beds which increase the end flavor. By allowing the hot dry air to circulate over, under and around the bed on which the cherries lay, it offers a more evenly consistent evaporation of moisture which will in turn promise a more even roast and flavoring in the final product.
